Headache Stories
JESSICA said: I just had a baby in July and I had a spinal block instead of an epidural in which they punctured my spine after sticking me numerous times. I then experienced a spinal headache 2 days later. A spinal headache is unlike any headache you will ever have. I also received a spinal patch where they took blood out of my arm to patch up the hole in my spine. IT DID NOT WORK!!!! I still have headaches daily. My wonderful OB/GYN has tried me on several medications, but the only thing that works for a spinal headache is a RED BULL drink and lying down. It was the worst experience of my life and it will make you not want any more children. I loved my OB/GYN, but my anesthesiologists (which it took 3 of them) could have done better so it wouldn't have been such a bad experience!!!!! So whoever reads this, if you are pregnant, DO NOT let them do a spinal block. Tell them you want an epidural or put you to sleep if you have a C-Section. I had a C-Section so an epidural or being put to sleep would have worked, but instead I got stuck full of holes and left with a spinal headache!!!
JULIE said: I have had migraine headaches for what seems like forever. I am now 47 yrs old and have a change in my headaches. What used to be right sided, or sometimes the ocular headache, but lately is a wonderful twist... My right side of my face, jaw, face and around my eye. I have been told that is my 5th cranial nerve, but still wonder why this change occurs. I went to the dentist and no surprise -it was not my teeth. He said that my jaw could be spasming from the headache, but still did not seem to think it was anything he could fix. My mom had something similar but I can no longer ask her as she had a stroke and cannot communicate. My next step is something better than just Maxalt as needed because these last for days and always begin with a break in my menstruation. I am going to see if Topomax might help.... fingers crossed. I am wondering if menopause is nearing and the cause of the change. It is truly exasperating. I am wanting a change from Maxalt because it seems a little dangerous to take something that works like it does on your blood vessels so often.
